In the Middle School, students study a curriculum of our own design, guided by the framework of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). In the first three years of the MYP, students will be able to follow a programme consisting of English Language and Literature, (including the study of World texts in translation), Mathematics, Science (taught as three separate sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics), Geography, History, Music, Theatre, Art and Design.
Students in Grades 6 to 8 will be able to choose at least one modern foreign language. Arabic, French, Spanish, German and Mandarin are the languages currently on offer.
Students will have the opportunity to engage with one interdisciplinary unit each year which allows a topic to be explored from two subject groups allowing students to engage in transdisciplinary learning and develop critical thinking skills. Students will also undertake Physical and Health education. The students’ experience of Middle School culminates in the Community Project.
