In the Upper School, students continue to follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), culminating in the award of the Middle Years Certificate. In the final two years of the MYP, students will be able to select subjects to create a more individualised pathway towards further study in the Sixth Form.
In Grades 9 and 10, students will select a total of 9 subjects from the eight MYP subject areas. They can drop certain subjects if they wish to increase their focus on others, however, it will be our expectation that all students will study three sciences, one foreign language, one humanities subject, Mathematics, Physical and Health education (which is not examined), Language and Literature, and at least one subject from the Arts or Design.
Students will complete an Interdisciplinary Examination which highlights their ability to look at subject matter from a variety of perspectives. The students’ experience of the Upper School culminates in the Personal Project.
