In the Junior School, more than 100 extra-curricular activities run each week providing an extensive array for students to choose from.

At NLCS Dubai, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Our Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme lies at the heart of our third pillar, Outstanding Enrichment, which stands proudly alongside Academic Excellence and Exceptional Pastoral Care as the foundation of our exceptional Junior School experience.
Our approach to enrichment follows a progressive model, ensuring that opportunities evolve as children develop in age, confidence, and independence. From our youngest learners exploring through play to our oldest students selecting from over 100 clubs and teams, every child is inspired to explore their interests and discover what makes them shine.
Pre-Kindergarten
Our youngest learners remain with their class teachers, engaging in play-based enrichment experiences that build on the learning of the day. These sessions focus on foundational skills such as collaboration, communication, and curiosity through imaginative and hands-on play.
Kindergarten 1
Students in KG1 are offered the opportunity to participate in non-mandatory activities provided by trusted external specialists. These sessions are designed for children who are ready to extend their interests beyond the classroom, in a gentle and developmentally appropriate way.
Kindergarten 2
In KG2, students begin to experience greater choice. They can take part in in-class enrichment activities or select from a range of external offerings that introduce them to new interests such as music, movement, and creative arts.
Grades 1–5
From Grade 1 onwards, enrichment takes on a more independent and personalised form. Students participate in an extensive elective after-school programme offering over 100 activities each week. Many of these clubs are non-chargeable and led by our own passionate teachers, while others are provided by external specialists who bring additional expertise to the programme.
Our wide-ranging options include academic and skills-based clubs such as Chess, Coding and Robotics, Science Club, and STEAM, as well as cultural and language activities like Mandarin and Hindi.
Sport and Team Spirit
Sport is a major feature of life at NLCS Dubai. Students enjoy both recreational and squad-based opportunities in tennis, football, netball, cricket, and swimming. Many of these take place before or after the school day. Our teams proudly compete in the prestigious DASSA leagues across a range of sports including athletics, aquathlon, cross-country, football, netball, rounders, and swimming. These experiences build resilience, teamwork, and school spirit.
The Arts at NLCS Dubai
The Arts hold a special place in our community. Alongside our school-run orchestra, choir, and Drama clubs, students can enrol in private Music and Drama (Trinity) lessons that lead to performance opportunities throughout the year. Concerts, showcases, and productions celebrate each student’s developing talent and creativity.
