North London Collegiate School Dubai recently hosted an open evening to introduce its new Sixth Form facilities and to explain what an NLCS Sixth Form experience offers. NLCS Dubai Principal, Jon Locke, key members of staff and Sixth Form students, presented the different and unique elements of the IBDP programme at NLCS. The key messages outlined how every student is individually challenged and supported whilst being encouraged to become responsible, ethical young leaders who will shape the World.
Student leaders engaged with attendees, emphasising the vibrant life at NLCS Dubai. They shared insights into the multiple leadership opportunities in the Sixth Form, how the school’s personalised approach to Extended Essays provides motivation and academic rigour, and how individual relationships between students and their teachers ensures everyone feels known and valued.
The evening also focused on the school’s distinctive Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) experiences, with discussions on global service trips to Thailand, Nepal, Africa, and the Maldives alongside local projects within the school or Dubai. This aspect of the IB curriculum emphasises the school’s commitment to developing socially conscious and globally aware students who understand the need to give to others.
University guidance was another topic, with current students and Head of Careers guidance, Kate Abery, offering valuable insights into the application process for universities in the USA, UK and other countries. This personalised guidance, based on individual knowledge of every student, is a cornerstone of NLCS Dubai, and is a key reason why NLCS students gain places at top universities worldwide.
The new Sixth Form facilities will become a hub of learning and personal growth, reflecting NLCS Dubai’s ethos of nurturing each student’s potential, allowing them to thrive and fulfil their dreams. The school community looks forward to seeing students make the most of these new facilities and opportunities.
