NLCS Jeju was founded in 2011 as a boarding and day school, and was the first NLCS International School to open its doors. The school is located on the picturesque island of Jeju, in South Korea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also the first international school to be opened as part of the Global Education City on Jeju Island, which is becoming the centre of English education in Korea and the pre-eminent educational hub of Asia.
In just a few years NLCS Jeju has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious and successful schools in East Asia. IB Diploma results are outstanding and the School’s graduates are attending some of the world’s leading universities, including Oxbridge and Ivy League colleges.
In 2021, North London Collegiate School Jeju has been announced as the winner of Best British International School at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.
In keeping with the NLCS philosophy, the curriculum is aspirational and provides significant academic challenge for students. Students sit iGCSE examinations at the end of Year 11 and follow the IB Diploma Programme through Years 12 and 13.
The pastoral care is consistently described as outstanding by inspection teams, and the commitment that no child will ever feel unsupported in the School extends across all aspects of the School, including the boarding environment.
