This year has been the most successful to date for our Senior Swim Squad. With over 60 students at trials, 45 were selected and competition for race spots has been high. In our first gala, NLCS placed 3rd. The second gala was a relay format where our squad depth ensured a dominant display as we placed 1st. The final gala took place last Thursday and it was an extremely close affair. Across 64 races, NLCS moved between 2nd and 1st place regularly, with just a handful of points separating the top teams. In the final eight races, six out of eight of our relay teams delivered their fastest race of the season. This was enough to secure the points needed to be crowned DASSA Division Champions.
Across the three galas, NLCS swimmers have achieved 105 personal best times. These times increased across the galas, with 20 in the first, 40 in the second and 45 in the final. This is a reflection of the hard work and dedication to training that the students have shown. We now look towards the DASSA Championships in January and the Middle East Unity Cup in March.
