Charity and Events

Many fun and exciting celebrations and events have taken place this half term throughout our school. We held NLCS Dubai’s first ever “Pink Day” and bake sale as part of Pinktober, organised by the charity committee, at which we raised an impressive 7500 AED for the Al Jalila Foundation.

NCLS Dubai also raised 1500 AED for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, commemorating WWI and supporting servicemen and women, and their families. The Charity committee are currently raising money for the Dubai Cares Philanthropy Award with stalls at the Winter Fair and more events for January. The aim is to raise as much money as possible to be distributed to Syrian refugees in Jordan and underprivileged children and schools in India. The Environmental Society are also working with sustainability officers from each Form, collating ideas on how to make our school more conservation aware and sustainable.

Once again, with pride, NLCS Dubai held an Arabic week and a celebration of the UAE’s 47th National Day. The week involved many interactive and educational activities such as a visit by an Emirati author, an Arabic book fair, a National Day Quiz and assemblies for both the Junior and Senior Schools. The activities were a great way to bring our whole school community together and for our Emirati families to come and share their knowledge and love of the United Arab Emirates by reading traditional stories, cooking and even donating Emirati sand for our Pre-KG students to play in!
