12 Angry Men
This term, NLCS Dubai was excited to see the first Senior School Drama Production. Students from Grades 6 – 9 performed in Reginald Rose’s “12 Angry Men”. The play focusses on how different individuals approach a critical decision in different ways. It revolves around a jury deliberation during which 12 jurors must decide the fate of a young man accused of murder. Over the course of the play, these characters expose their inner most fears and prejudices, leading to a dramatic climax which certainly shocked our audience. The character backgrounds that are so vital in moving the play forward were expertly portrayed by our young actors, some of whom were treading the boards for the first time! The performance was gritty and riveting and was an excellent demonstration of the students’ talents. The show also had a team of student technicians operating the lighting and sound equipment, allowing students to develop their theatrical skills on and off stage. We would like to thank all of those who came to support our cast and crew and Mrs Durston for all her hard work.
